Last updated July 29, 2026. This is a plain-language summary written for a small indie project, not a substitute for legal advice — see the note at the bottom.
1. Acceptance of these Terms
By creating an account or otherwise using YouGamePlay (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service and our Disclaimer. If you don't agree, don't use the Service. We may update these Terms from time to time (see Section 13); continuing to use the Service after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
2. Eligibility & accounts
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you're under the age of majority where you live, you confirm you have a parent or guardian's permission to use the Service. Registrations may be invite-only from time to time at our discretion.
You're responsible for keeping your password confidential and for all activity under your account. Use a real, working email — it's how we identify your account and, eventually, how we'll contact you about anything account-related. One account per person; don't create accounts to manipulate voting, leaderboards, or the friend system.
3. The Service
YouGamePlay is a daily arcade of original mini-games with a community-voted "Daily Trio," a live leaderboard, weekly and monthly winners, and a friends system. Game rosters, scoring rules, difficulty, voting mechanics, leaderboard weighting, and every other feature described on the site can change at any time without notice — this is an evolving hobby project, not a fixed contract of features.
We don't guarantee the Service will be available, uninterrupted, error-free, or that your scores, rank, or trophies will be preserved forever, though we don't intend to casually wipe your data.
4. Premium & payments
A paid "Premium" tier is planned but not yet available — no payment processing is live on the Service today. When Premium does launch, a separate description of what it includes, its price, and a refund policy will be posted, and these Terms will be updated to reflect it. Nothing on the site today constitutes an offer to sell anything.
5. Acceptable use
Don't: cheat, exploit bugs, or automate play to manipulate scores or leaderboards; harass, impersonate, or abuse other players; attempt to gain unauthorized access to accounts, data, or infrastructure; scrape, reverse-engineer, or rebuild the Service; or use the Service for anything unlawful. We may remove content, reset scores, suspend, or terminate accounts that violate this section, with or without notice.
6. Intellectual property
Every game, the site design, the YouGamePlay name and logo, and all original art, audio, and code are owned by us (or our licensors) and are not clones of any existing commercial game. You may not copy, redistribute, or create derivative works from the Service without permission. Fonts used are open-licensed (Google Fonts). If you believe something on the Service infringes your copyright, see the takedown process in our Disclaimer.
7. Your content
The main things you contribute are your username, your chosen avatar/color from the options we provide, and your gameplay scores. By using the Service you let us display that information publicly (leaderboards, profiles, friend boards) as core parts of how the site works. Don't choose a username that's abusive, impersonates someone else, or infringes a trademark — we can rename or remove accounts that do.
8. Leaderboards, rankings & trophies
Points, ranks, weekly/monthly titles, and trophies are for fun and bragging rights only — they have no cash value and cannot be redeemed, transferred, or sold, unless we explicitly launch a paid or prize-based feature and say otherwise in writing at that time. We may correct, adjust, or reset scores or rankings we reasonably believe resulted from a bug, exploit, or cheating.
9. Third-party services
The Service is hosted on Cloudflare and may load third-party fonts (Google Fonts). We don't control those providers' availability or terms.
10. Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don't warrant the Service will be secure, uninterrupted, or free of errors, or that any defects will be corrected. See our Disclaimer for more.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we won't be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, goodwill, or opportunity, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the Service — even if we've been advised of the possibility. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of $10 or the amount you paid us in the past 12 months (currently $0, since Premium isn't live).
12. Indemnification
You agree to defend and hold us harmless from claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your violation of these Terms or misuse of the Service.
13. Termination
You can stop using the Service and ask us to close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access to the Service, in whole or part, for anyone who violates these Terms or for any other reason, at our discretion.
14. Changes to the Service or these Terms
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service, and may revise these Terms, at any time. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when we do; material changes will be reflected here rather than sent individually, since we don't yet have an email-notification system.
15. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the operator's home jurisdiction, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. [Owner: fill in your specific state/country here, ideally with a lawyer's input.]
16. Contact
Questions about these Terms? Reach out via the contact details on your account or through the site owner directly.
This page is boilerplate drafted for a small indie project — it is not legal advice, and using it doesn't guarantee legal compliance in any jurisdiction. Have a lawyer review it before it needs to hold up for anything that matters (real payments, disputes, etc.).
